Competitive Field of Nine Set for $200,000 Fleur De Lis Handicap
Sheer Drama has been tabbed as the morning line favorite at odds of 2-1 for trainer David Fawkes. A five-year-old daughter of Burning Roma, she has won four of her sixteen starts and has been on the board in all four outings this year. After winning the Royal Delta (G2) in March, she was second last time out in the La Troienne (G1) at Churchill Downs as the favorite. Joe Bravo, her regular rider, will remain aboard and they will break from post position seven.
My Sweet Addiction going for third straight win
Second choice at 5-2 on the morning line is My Sweet Addiction for trainer Martin Jones. A bay daughter of Tiznow, the five-year-old mare has been on the board in nine of her ten starts and is a four-time winner. She comes into this race off of back to back victories including a front-running score in the Vanity (G1) last time out. She has had a recent bullet workout and will have Mike Smith in the irons from post position eight.
America trying to rebound and return to form
Also in the field and a long shot at 10-1 on the morning line is America for trainer Bill Mott. Owned and bred by celebrity chef Bobby Flay, the four-year-old daughter of A.P. Indy has won four of her fourteen starts and will be trying to rebound after a seventh-place finish in the La Troiennne (G1) last time out against similar rivals. She will get a jockey change to Joel Rosario and they are scheduled to break from the rail.
