Mor Spirit Launches Sophomore Campaign in $150,000 Robert B. Lewis Stakes
On Saturday at Santa Anita, the stakes action will begin with the $150,000 Robert B. Lewis Stakes. Restricted to three-year-olds, the Grade 3 event will be run at a mile and a sixteenth on the main track and has drawn a field of seven colts and geldings.
Mor Spirit tops the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 8-5 and is one of two competitors in the race for trainer Bob Baffert. He was last seen winning the Los Alamitos Futurity (G1) and will be making his three-year-old debut. Gary Stevens will be aboard and they will break from post position five.
Class test for undefeated I Will Score

Undefeated from two starts, the dark bay son of Roman Ruler broke his maiden at first asking at Los Alamitos in September and then, after a four month break, reappeared and won an optional claiming race at Santa Anita. He will be stepping up to stakes company for the first time and will break from post two under Mike Smith.
Let's Meet in Rio trying for first stakes win
Also in the field at morning line odds of 6-1 is Let’s Meet in Rio, the other horse from the Baffert barn. A dark bay son of Flatter, he has one win from four starts and will be trying to earn his first stakes victory. After breaking his maiden in his third start, he made his stakes debut in the Sham Stakes (G3) and finished second despite racing greenly. Kent Desormeaux will be aboard and they will break from the rail.
