Teen Pauline Headlines Field for $200,000 Turn Back the Alarm Stakes
On Sunday at Belmont Park, the featured race is the 20th running of the $200,000 Turn Back the Alarm Handicap. The Grade 3 race will be run at a mile and a sixteenth on the main track and has drawn a field of eight.
Teen Pauline, one of two horses in the race for trainer Todd Pletcher, has been installed as the morning line favorite at odds of 3-1. The four-year-old daughter of Tapit is undefeated from three starts this year and will be making her first start since winning the Top Flight (G2) at Aqueduct in March. A track record-setter in her career debut as a juvenile, she has won five of her eleven starts and will have Irad Ortiz, Jr. aboard from post position five.
Endless Chatter going for first graded stakes win
Second choice at 7-2 on the morning is Endless Chatter, one of two fillies coming out of the Chad Brown barn. A four-year-old daughter of First Samurai, the dark bay filly has been on the board in all six starts this year and has three wins to her credit. She was last seen finishing third in the Beldame (G1) in her first try against graded stakes company. Joel Rosario, aboard for her win two starts back in the Summer Colony, will be back in the irons and they will break from post six.
Undefeated Dame Dorothy gets class test
Also in the field at morning line odds of 4-1 is Dame Dorothy, also trained by Todd Pletcher. The three-year-old daughter of Bernardini was purchased for $390,000 as a yearling by celebrity chef Bobby Flay. Undefeated from three career starts, the lightly-raced filly will be making her first start since winning a state-bred stakes race at Presque Isle Downs in August. She has had a recent bullet workout at Belmont Park and will have Javier Castellano aboard from post two.
